Who we are

FiEV Electric Mobility (“FiEV”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by FiEV Mobility Pvt. Ltd., a company incorporated in India. We run an Electric Vehicle as a Service platform for last-mile delivery: riders subscribe to electric two-wheelers, Fleet Partners own and finance those vehicles, and Franchise Partners operate local hubs.

For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy, and you are the Data Principal.

Purpose and scope

This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do about it.

It applies to this website (fievmobility.com), to our enquiry forms, and to information you give us by other means — WhatsApp, telephone, email, or in person at a hub. It also covers the rider onboarding process, including identity verification.

It does not cover the delivery platforms you work for. If you ride for a food delivery or quick commerce company, that company handles your data under its own policy, and we have no control over it.

What we collect, and how

Information you give us directly

  • Enquiry form. Your name, phone number, email address, city, which of our programmes you are asking about, and the message you write. Every one of those fields is required before the form will send.
  • WhatsApp, phone and email. Whatever you choose to tell us, plus your phone number or email address as the channel you contacted us on.
  • Rider onboarding and KYC. If you subscribe to a vehicle we collect identity proof (such as Aadhaar or PAN), address proof, your driving licence, a photograph, and your date of birth to confirm you are 18 or over. Some of this is sensitive personal data and is treated accordingly.
  • Payment details. Your UPI ID for AutoPay mandates, and a record of the subscription payments and security deposit. We do not see or store your UPI PIN, card numbers or banking credentials — those stay with the payment provider.
  • Fleet and Franchise Partners. Identity and address proof, PAN, bank account details for lease rental payments, and the commercial terms of your agreement with us.
  • Careers. Anything in a CV or application you send us.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs. Our hosting provider records the IP address, browser type, device type, referring page and time of each request. This is standard for any website and is used for security and to keep the site working.
  • Analytics. If we have enabled Google Analytics, it records pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser. It is disabled by default on this site; when it is on, the pages are served with Google’s tag and Google acts as a separate controller of that data under its own terms.
  • Vehicle telematics. Vehicles in the fleet are GPS-tracked for security, recovery, and to manage utilisation and servicing. Location data from a vehicle assigned to you is linked to your subscription for as long as that vehicle is in your possession.

Information from third parties

  • Verification services. Where you consent, we may verify the identity documents you give us against the issuing authority or a licensed verification provider, and may carry out background or driving record checks before handing over a vehicle.
  • Delivery platforms. If you ask us to, we may confirm that you are active on a delivery platform. We do not receive your earnings or order data.

Why we use it

  • To answer your enquiry and give you the information you asked for
  • To assess whether you are eligible to ride, and to verify that you are who you say you are
  • To hand over a vehicle, manage your subscription, take payment and process renewals
  • To service, track, recover and insure the vehicles
  • To provide support when something goes wrong
  • To manage Fleet Partner leases and Franchise Partner operations, and to make payments due under them
  • To detect and prevent fraud, theft and misuse of the fleet
  • To understand which parts of the site are useful and improve them
  • To meet our obligations under Indian law, including tax, transport and motor vehicle regulations, and to respond to lawful requests from authorities

We do not use your personal data to train machine learning models, and we do not sell it. We do not run behavioural advertising.

The basis on which we process it

Under the DPDP Act we rely on your consent, which you give when you submit an enquiry, sign a subscription or partner agreement, or complete KYC. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Your rights below); withdrawing it may mean we can no longer provide the service, since we cannot lawfully lease a vehicle to someone we cannot identify.

We also process data for certain legitimate uses permitted by the Act, including complying with a legal obligation and responding to a court order or a lawful request from a government authority.

Who has access inside FiEV

We are a small team. Access is limited to the people who need it to do a specific job — hub operations, rider support, finance, and the two founders. Franchise Partner staff at your local hub can see what they need to hand over a vehicle and support you, and nothing else. Access is granted on a need-to-know basis and removed when someone changes role or leaves.

Who we share it with outside FiEV

Service providers

These providers process data on our instructions and only for the purpose we engage them for. The ones this website uses today are:

  • Netlify — hosting. Sees the server logs described above.
  • Formspree — delivers enquiry form submissions to our inbox.
  • Google Fonts — the site loads two typefaces from Google’s servers, which means your IP address is visible to Google when the page loads.
  • Google Analytics — only if enabled; currently it is not.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) — if you choose to message us, that conversation is governed by WhatsApp’s own privacy policy as well as this one.

Beyond the website, we use payment providers, KYC and verification providers, insurers, telematics providers, and a workshop network for servicing. Each is bound by contract to protect your data.

Fleet Partners and Franchise Partners

A Fleet Partner owns the vehicle you ride but does not receive your personal data. They see utilisation and payment performance at a vehicle level, not who is riding it. Franchise Partners do handle rider data, because they hand over vehicles and provide support in person; they are bound by our agreement and this policy.

Authorities

We disclose data where we are required to by law, a court order, or a lawful request from a statutory or government authority — including police in the event of an accident, theft or a traffic offence involving one of our vehicles.

If the business changes hands

If FiEV is acquired, merges, or transfers part of its business, personal data may transfer with it. You will be told, and this policy continues to apply until you are given a new one.

How long we keep it

Data retention periods
Enquiries that do not become customers30 days
Rider KYC and subscription records30 days
Payment and tax recordsAs required by Indian tax law
Vehicle telematics3 years
Server logs7 days

Where the law sets a minimum period — tax and accounting records in particular — we keep the data for that period regardless of any deletion request. Otherwise we erase it once the purpose it was collected for has been met.

How we protect it

We use access controls, encryption in transit (this site is served over HTTPS), and restrict who inside FiEV can reach what. Payment credentials never touch our systems. We keep KYC documents only where they are needed and limit who can open them.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the DPDP Act requires.

Your rights

As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act you can:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and what we do with it
  • Correct anything inaccurate, and complete anything incomplete
  • Erase your data where we no longer need it for the purpose it was collected for and no law requires us to keep it
  • Withdraw consent at any time, as easily as you gave it
  • Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated
  • Complain to our Grievance Officer, and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if we do not resolve it

To exercise any of these, email or message us on WhatsApp. We will respond within the period the law allows. We may ask you to confirm your identity first — which is a protection for you, not an obstacle.

Visitors from the EU or UK. If the GDPR applies to you, you additionally have the right to object to processing, the right to restrict it, and the right to data portability. The same contact address applies.

Children

Our service is for delivery riders aged 18 and over, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. We verify age during KYC. We do not track children or serve them advertising. If you believe a child has given us personal data, tell us and we will delete it.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own. It stores nothing in your browser and does not track you between visits. If we enable Google Analytics in future, it will set its own cookies, and we will say so here. You can block cookies in your browser settings without breaking anything on this site.

Links to other sites

We link to WhatsApp, and may link to delivery platforms, app stores or partner sites. Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s site under someone else’s policy. We would encourage you to read it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top always shows when it last changed. If a change materially affects how we handle your data, we will tell you directly — by WhatsApp, email or a notice on the site — rather than relying on you to notice.
